Located along the Coastal Highway 101 near Florence, the Darlingtonia Wayside is a one of a kind natural attraction.

This small botanical state park is full to the brim with a rare carnivorous plant species: the Darlingtonia Californica, also known as the Cobra Lily.

The unique plant is both lovely and strange. They have tubular translucent leaves reminiscent of a cobra's head, with a forked tongue that catches insects.

A 0.3-mile boardwalk weaves through the preserve offering visitors a unique, lovely view of the cobra lilies in their habitat.
