With A Base Elevation Of 7,100 Feet, Anthony Lakes Resort Is An Awesome Winter Playground In Oregon

It might be cold and dreary outside, but there's one sure way to cheer you up: bundle up and head to your favorite ski resort. Breathe in some fresh air, ski or snowboard, and enjoy some scenic views from the summit. If you find yourself in eastern Oregon, you might want to pay a visit to Anthony Lakes Resort. It has the highest base elevation of any of the Beaver State's ski resorts!

If you're a powder hound, you'll be in pure heaven at Anthony Lakes Resort. It gets 300 inches every winter, and its high elevation and dry air means that the snow is light and powdery.

The resort got its start in the mid-1960s, and it's been drawing winter sports enthusiasts to its mountain ever since. One of just two resorts in eastern Oregon, this place has earned its reputation as the "Friendliest little ski area in America."

Hop on the lift and make your way 900 feet up to the top of the mountain. The views from the top, at 8,000 feet elevation, are stunning.

It's a winter wonderland here! On a bluebird day, you'll never want to leave.

With 1,100 acres of terrain to explore, you'll want to make sure to arrive early so you can carve and shred all day long. The resort has 21 runs, and it offers a nice mix of terrain for all skill levels.

Anthony Lakes alpine runs are 20 percent beginner, 38 percent intermediate, and 42 percent expert.

Nordic skiers love it here, too. Enjoy 30km of groomed, track-set trails. The terrain varies in difficulty, with 14 percent suitable for beginners, 26 percent for intermediate-level skiers, and 60 percent designated as expert-level trails.

If you're new to skiing, or just want to increase your skills, sign up for a group or private lesson from a pro.

From the bunny hill to the advanced runs, your instructor will help you gain confidence and become a better skier.

What are you waiting for? Bundle up, grab your skis, and get up on the mountain!

Anthony Lakes Resort limits the number of passes it sells per day, so you'll never have a lift line here! Get yours online in advance.
