Not Everyone Knows Downtown Sapulpa In Oklahoma Puts On A Dazzling Holiday Light Display

Route 66 Christmas Chute in Downtown Sapulpa features a walkable Christmas wonderland with over 35,000 lights and themed canopies.

A new holiday extravaganza has opened in Downtown Sapulpa with a dazzling light display that's filled with Christmas spirit. The Route 66 Christmas Chute is a walkable Christmas wonderland featuring over 35,000 lights within 10 different chute themes. You can walk along Route 66 under magical canopies and shop from pop-up shops and local businesses, and enjoy some hot cocoa and treats. Every weekend features different events filled with Christmas magic, so gather the family and head to Downtown Sapulpa where you'll find the Christmas spirit on every corner.

The Route 66 Christmas Chute just opened on November 3, 2022, and will run until January 1, 2023. The event is so new that pictures are sparse but here's a photo during construction. The finished product is so more extravagant than this shot...just wait until you see it in person!

The Christmas Chute is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and features 10 canopy chutes, all with different themes.

The canopies run 800-feet-long along Route 66 in Downtown Sapulpa and are filled with holiday decor, elements, and lights.

You'll also find a 30-foot Christmas tree, 15,000 feet of Christmas garland, 35,000 lights, 8,500 icicles, and much more.

Looking for a unique holiday experience after walking under the chutes? If so, you can rent a private igloo and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa by the fire while hanging out with friends and family. Reservations are highly suggested but they are also available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Every weekend there are special events so be sure and check their calendar on the official website or follow along on their Facebook page. Local businesses stay open later during the event so you can also shop or eat in downtown.
