The North Pole Express at the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation in Findlay is one of the most unique ways to celebrate Christmas in Ohio. Board a quarter-scale train and ride through holiday lights and decorations at this family fun destination, which also features a railroad gift shop, a decorated museum and pictures with Santa. This holiday season, consider adding the magical North Pole Express at the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation to your bucket list of Christmas lights displays.

This volunteer-run group seeks to promote northwest Ohio railroad history, which train enthusiasts will love.

At Christmastime, the museum and surrounding grounds are decked out with holiday cheer, twinkling lights and festive displays. You'll journey through a winter wonderland aboard the quarter-scale train.

You'll also want to check out the railroad gift shop, indoor displays and pictures with Santa.

You can actually board the museum's quarter-scale train year-round. (The Pumpkin Train in the fall is particularly fun.)

In addition to their quarter-scale steam locomotive, they also have a quarter-scale diesel for when the weather doesn't allow for steam operation.

The North Pole Express generally runs the end of November through the end of December. You can visit the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation website for details, dates, and admission for this year's event.

Indoors, you'll find even more dazzling displays, including train models, inflatable Christmas characters and a forest of more than 130 Christmas trees.
