Here in Ohio, there are quite a few places to check out a sky full of stars. And during the end of March, there’s something else that will catch your attention in the Ohio night sky. What’s being dubbed a "planet parade" is an incredibly rare celestial event in Ohio where all five of the naked-eye planets will align after sunset. Here’s more on this fantastic event you won’t want to miss!

Attention, star-gazing enthusiasts! Happening all month is a rare celestial event in Ohio known as a "planet parade." It will be visible from March 25 to March 30.

So what exactly will this entail? Essentially, all five of our solar system's naked-eye planets (those which we can see with a naked eye) will align in their proper order after the sun sets.

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus are the planets visible in Ohio tonight. They will seem to sink below the horizon as the night progresses.

This will take place right after the sun sets in the west, so be sure to keep an eye out to spot Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus all in one night!

To maximize your chance of seeing all five planets, be sure to look low on the horizon toward the west. After the sun sets, you have about an hour to see Jupiter and Mercury before they dip below the horizon.

What's particularly fascinating is that although the planets may seem relatively close together from the Earth's perspective, they're actually millions of miles apart from each other.

Whether you're a solar system enthusiast or simply love celebrating unique celestial events, you'll be glad you witnessed this phenomenon.

The last time this configuration happened was in 2004!
