7 Then And Now Photos In North Dakota That Show Just How Much It Has Changed

Change will always happen no matter what, and especially in the last century, a lot of change has happened. North Dakota was once a new frontier of wild lands for hopeful settlers instead of the busy, developed lands that it is today. The cities all had their new beginnings as no more than a post office or a trading post, and every monument had to be built at some point. Here are some then and now photos of North Dakota that show the difference between those times and the present day.

1. Downtown Bismarck

circa 1876 and 2014

2. Williston

circa 1941 and 2008

3. Minot Post Office, now Court House

circa 1930 and 2008

4. World's Largest Buffalo statue, Jamestown

circa 1960 and 2007

5. Downtown Grand Forks

circa 1915 and 2009

6. Ellendale Opera House

circa 1910 and 2009

7. Hotel Rudolf, now Rudolf Square Apartments, Valley City

circa 1908 and 2012

Can you believe how much some things have changed? Or alternatively, seeing buildings that are still standing today. I wonder what we'll be comparing to the present day photos to in a hundred years.
