North Carolina’s 1st Launching Slick Slide/Aerial Park Offers Tons Of Fun For All Ages

An indoor adventure park in North Carolina offers unique ways to build strength, balance, and excitement. OC Aerial opened in June of 2022, offering the Triangle residents and visitors an exciting place to play.

The staff puts safety first here by fitting participants with harnesses and helmets (if they desire) for certain activities.

In addition, a brief tutorial explains how to best navigate the obstacles and tackle them with confidence.

The intricate rope course features 34 climbing elements.

Each run is 19 feet long and 16 feet above ground.

Sail through the air on the 165-foot zip line which can accommodate both experienced and beginner-level participants.

Another fun adventure at OC Aerial in North Carolina is the Leap of Faith.

Once the harness is fitted properly, climb a spiral staircase to the 21-foot landing platform where a staff member connects an auto belay to your body.

The jumper is notified when to leap once the safety bar is opened.

The idea is to hold onto the hanging bag as long as possible. When your arms and legs are exhausted, let go and the auto belay will guide you slowly to the ground.

And now for the most exciting activity, the launching Slick Slides offer a choice of 18- or 21-foot tall slopes.

Sliders receive a carpet square and climb the 16-foot high platform. Choose your slide, and from here you can see the 4-foot-thick landing air mat below.

The ends of the slides are curled up to catapult you in the air on your carpet square.

The result is a flying carpet ride that turns all of us into children again as we sail to the soft landing below.

And if you're into climbing, some of the several ways offered are the Warped Walls.

These can be accessed as a single obstacle or at the end of one of the ninja lanes. The beginners can try the 10-foot wall and progress to the 12- and 14-foot high walls. A button awaits at the top of the highest wall which releases a burst of fog with colored lights when it is pushed to announce your success!
