Yet today's attraction is truly one-of-a-kind. With its whimsical charm, the Collettsville Cup House -- also known as the Collettsville House of Mugs -- looks like something you'd discover in a storybook. Whether you're a fan of beautiful artwork or you appreciate a good coffee mug, you'll be enchanted by this unique landmark.
The Collettsville Cup House is a North Carolina fairytale come to life. If you didn't know what to expect, you might think you'd landed smack dab in the middle of a storybook.
True to its name, the House of Mugs is completely decked out with coffee mugs...20,000 of them!
This accidental art installation began when owners Avery and Doris Sisk brought home a small collection of random mugs and displayed them around as decoration.
The idea took off, and several years and many coffee cups later, the House of Mugs was born. It's hard to imagine the number of hours that have gone into covering every square inch of this home in coffee mugs.
The house is located at the end of an unpaved country road, but visitors can attest that seeing this wonderfully bizarre attraction is absolutely worth the drive.
The couple still lives there today, in fact, and they invite you to add your mug to the collection. That is...if you can find a spare nail!
