The Hidden Castle Near Buffalo That Almost No One Knows About
Discover the hidden Cambria Castle near Buffalo, a private and rarely known architectural gem.
Buffalo is famous for our amazing architecture, but there is one building near the city that somehow flies under the radar, even though it's incredible. Behold... the hidden castle near Buffalo that almost no one knows about!
The Cambria Castle is located in Williamsville.
It goes by many names. You might have heard of it referred to as the Williamsville Castle and Oechsner Castle. If this is the first you're hearing of it, we're not surprised; this castle is kept relatively secret in Western New York.
The Cambria Castle is on private property with posted trespassing warnings, so please respect the owners' wishes and experience it through photos instead!
The castle is built on a plot of land referred to as "Dream Island," and it truly is a dream-like building.
The castle was built in 1917 by a German-born mason.
It has been said that the man wanted to create a building that reminded him of home.
The Cambria Castle is so authentic that there's even a moat leading to it!
It's no wonder this place is not often accessed - it's tucked away in a beautiful, fairytale-like setting.
There was recently a large estate sale at the property, giving the public an unusual glimpse of the castle.
The sale drew a large crowd - some looking for antique finds, but many just wanted to see what the castle was all about.
We never know this place existed until very recently.
And we're sure glad we found out about it! While taking a hike back to the building sounds intriguing, we urge you to respect the privacy for the castle's owners. After all, you wouldn't want strangers scrambling through your own backyard!
Some people have visited the castle with permission from the owners, though this is rare.
There has also been talk of the castle going up for public sale, but we cannot confirm these reports. Until you are able to experience its beauty firsthand, explore the Cambria Castle vicariously through these photos!
