The Waterfront Observatory In New York Where You Can See For Miles And Miles
The Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory in Tupper Lake offers a unique stargazing experience with its telescopes and dark sky location.
As of next week, New Yorkers can officially begin to celebrate the season of spring. For many of us, once things begin to warm up we often like to head up north to the mountains. If you already have plans to enjoy one of your usual activities like hiking or camping and are looking to add other adventures onto your list of things to do, then check out why the waterfront attraction up in the mountains will steal your heart away.
Within the Adirondack village of Tupper Lake, the Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory can be found right near the shores of Little Wolf Pond.
Equipped with a roll-off roof, this secluded observatory is set up on the dark side of a hill in the mountains, where you'll have pristine views for stargazing.
Open for both the public and private parties, the observatory currently has a handful of mounted telescopes - even housing a restored and award-winning 1925 Everest "Old Town Pump" Telescope. Woah!
Right by Little Wolf Beach and Campground, once the sun goes down and the dark skies appear overhead, you'll have the ultimate viewing of the stars.
For both amateurs and professionals alike, the observatory hosts events and various workshops all throughout the year where people from all over New York come to gather and learn more about astronomy.
From astrophotography equipment and smaller telescopes to astronomy accessories and more, there's so much to be learned and enjoyed here at the observatory.
A unique adventure to take up north in the mountains, plan a trip to the Adirondack Sky Center and Observatory to get away from it all.
