Your Taste Buds Will Love This Chocolate Factory Tour In Buffalo
Fowler’s Chocolates in Buffalo offers an annual factory tour showcasing their chocolate-making process, supporting local charities.
The only thing better than eating homemade chocolate is seeing how the deliciousness comes to be. Fowler's Chocolates has been a household name in the Buffalo area for more than 100 years and after downing a few (hundred!) over the course of our lives, we're not surprised. It might just be the best chocolate we've ever had. That's why we're so excited for the 17th Annual Factory Tour coming up this fall!
Fowler's Chocolates got its start when Joseph A. Fowler opened a sweets and confections stand outside the Pan American Exposition back in 1901.
That's over 100 years of sweetness in Buffalo!
What started as a seasonal producer of sponge candy has now expanded to a year-round operation that makes over 35,000 pounds of the stuff!
And, of course, they've expanded to include other varieties of chocolate too.
Like the delicious truffle captured in a candy bar. It has a smooth ganache truffle center surrounded by pure, rich milk chocolate.
But, how does all of this come to be? The magic happens in the River Rock Drive factory, which has been open since 1994. Once a year, visitors are invited to see how it's done.
The 17th Annual Factory Tours will take place on Saturday, October 12th and on Monday, October 14th, 2019.
Tours run hourly from 9 a.m. to noon and again from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Over the years, this charity event has raised over $35,000 for local organizations.
This year's factory tour will support the Boys & Girls Club of the Northtowns. This local nonprofit has been around for more than 75 years, providing after school programs to kids aged 6-18 in Buffalo, the Town of Tonawanda and the Tonawandas.
Kids and adults love this annual event, and each year it's packed.
Be sure to get tickets early to make sure you have a spot and prepare to treat your sweet tooth in the most satisfying way possible!
