The Riverboat Cruise In Buffalo You Never Knew Existed

If you live in Buffalo, chances are you've heard about the newbies to hit the boating scene: paddle boats, tiki boats, kayak rentals, you name it - they're frequenting the city's waterfront. What you might not know about is this local gem that has been providing service to Buffalonians for years. Take a look at the riverboat cruise in Buffalo you never knew existed!

Buffalo River History Tours offer several different tour options on a daily basis.

There are three Buffalo River cruises available to suit your needs. Choose from the Buffalo River Tour, Silo City Tour, and - on weekends - the Canalside Cocktail Cruise!

Once the tour launches, you'll start learning all about Buffalo's rich waterfront history.

The Buffalo River Tour is a 90-minute narrated tour that takes you up close and personal to Buffalo's grain elevators, the largest standing of their kind in the nation!

This tour takes off daily at 10:30, 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, and 5:30.

Bring your cameras aboard for the tour, especially if you opt for the Silo City Tour!

The Silo City Tour is a two-hour tour that drops you off inside Silo City, where you can walk and learn about the grain silos.

This tour will take you beneath the silos to see how grain was transferred during the peak of Buffalo's industrial era. According to the Buffalo River History Tours website, "This area has been named one of the best industrial photographed locations in the western Hemisphere." Get ready to snap away!

Mark your calendars! The Silo City Tour is held daily at 11:30 and 2:00.

If you're looking for a more casual trip, the Canalside Cocktail Cruise is right up your alley (or river, if you will).

These tours are held on Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30 PM aboard the Harbor Queen. The tours are not narrated, but guides are available to answer questions as you go. Each tour includes live local music, a cash bar, and stunning views for ages 21+.

Whichever option you choose, Buffalo River History Tours are a great way to spend a day on the water!

You'll walk away from your afternoon on the lake with a newfound appreciation for all things Buffalo – and maybe a fresh new sun tan, too! It's a win-win!

Have you ever been on a Buffalo River History Tour? What's the most interesting thing you learned while you were aboard? If you've never been, be sure to check them out on your next free summer day!
