The Massive Shopping Center in New Mexico That Takes Nearly All Day to Explore
With dozens of stores and excellent restaurants, you'll find everything you need within this massive shopping center.
Visitors and locals alike will agree that Albuquerque boasts some of the best shopping in the Land of Enchantment. However, many may not know that it is also home to the biggest shopping mall in the entire state. It is no ordinary mall, either. Read on to learn all the insider knowledge about what makes the Coronado Center the best shopping mall in New Mexico.
Built in 1965, the Coronado Center is an Albuquerque gem featuring dozens of stores and services across just over one million square feet, making it one of the largest buildings in New Mexico by area. As such, it offers its visitors the ultimate shopping experience.
Coronado Center’s brightly lit interior shopping area features a variety of stores across a two-floor layout. One of its highlights is the children’s play area on the lower level near JCPenney, where children can release any pent-up energy while parents relax and enjoy “The World’s Best Flavored French Fries” from the adjacent Potato Corner.
During the 2017 to 2018 time period, the Coronado Center underwent a massive transformation through a series of extensive renovation efforts. The new and improved interior layout boasts visually appealing modern design elements that have overhauled its appearance, while also adding several new stores.
As you walk around this massive shopping center, you'll find clothing stores, like Aerie, an American Eagle-inspired brand featuring a variety of fashionable women’s clothing, including athletic wear, intimates, accessories, and more. Bath and Body Works is another popular store at the Coronado Center that offers a variety of delightful fragrances, lotions, soaps, scented candles, and more.
After a busy day of perusing the Coronado Center’s lengthy lineup of stores, stop by the Food Court for a bite at Charley’s Philly Steaks, Panda Express, Nori Japan, Keva Juice, and more. This is a great place to refuel, relax, and plan out the remainder of your shopping. With so many stores and such a large amount of square footage, you could spend a long time browsing this New Mexico shopping mall.
The Coronado Center is open seven days a week. Visit the Coronado Center's website for current hours and to view information on upcoming events and news.
