The Riverboat Cruise In New Jersey You Never Knew Existed

When it comes to cruises, New Jersey has a wide range of options. With all of our coastline, you'll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the ocean. You'll also find fancy yacht cruises along the Hudson and eco-tours in our marshes, but did you know that riverboat cruises are an option. The Garden State actually offers several, but the River Lady stands out.

The River Lady is a 150 passenger, 85′ authentic reproduction of a paddle wheel riverboat.

Inspired by 19th century Mississippi riverboats, she's the only true stern-wheeler in the state (according to the River Lady website).

There are two decks - a covered upper deck that can be enclosed and a climate controlled Victorian-style lower deck.

Though it's old-fashioned, there are modern amenities like dance floors and a P.A. system, making it perfect for parties.

While it can be rented for private events, it is most popular as a lunch and dinner cruise.

There's a children's menu, gluten free choices and dishes like Chicken Marsala, Filet of Salmon and Penne Vodka. Specialty drinks (with or without alcohol) are available.

During your meal, you'll enjoy a scenic ride along the Toms River and Barnegat Bay.

Cruises include historical commentary and sightseeing. Maps are available.

You'll find the River Lady at 1 Robbins Parkway, Toms River. Public cruises are offered from May-October. Reservations must be made in advance. For other beautiful boat rides in New Jersey, check out this sunset wine cruise or this salt marsh safari.
