The First Hasbro-Themed Arcade In The United States Just Opened In New Jersey And It’s The Perfect Summer Adventure
I'm an 80s kid, and maybe I'm biased, but childhood was just better then! We all have fond memories of arcades at our local mall, and Toys 'R Us stores teeming with our favorite toys. And there was one brand that loomed above them all - Hasbro. This massive toy company put together a portfolio of icons that now includes Monopoly, Candy Land, Transformers, GI Joe, and so much more. Well, for parents today - or for 80s kids who never fully grew up - it's possible to relive all that fun at a unique Hasbro-themed arcade that just opened in summer 2024. The Gameroom, a massive state-of-the-art arcade, is the latest attraction at the massive American Dream megamall in East Rutherford, and it's the perfect summer adventure in New Jersey. Step inside, and discover how this unique immersive experience has brought your favorite toys and games to life.
American Dream is the kind of place that just keeps growing and changing, but they may have outdone themselves with their newest addition.
Welcome to the Gameroom, an immersive arcade, entertainment center, and family dining destination - all powered by the creations of Hasbro.
That's right, Hasbro - one of the biggest names in kids' entertainment. The parent company of American Dream, Triple Five, has rebranded their Galaxyland theme park in Edmonton to Hasbro as well - but this is the first place in the USA to experience this kind of attraction.
That includes the chance to play larger-than-life versions of classic Hasbro games like Connect Four and Twister - all with state-of-the-art effects.
There are also immersive virtual reality experiences that allow players to enter the fictional world of their favorite characters like never before.
The headliner experience here is definitely the GI Joe Battle Station, a laser tag experience that allows players to experience a mission like the ones Duke would lead. Go Joe!
There's also a full restaurant there and a bar for mom and dad - but the headliner snacks have to be the unique sweet creations created at the Candy Land Shake Bar. If playing that game ever made you hungry, this place is for you!
Have you visited The Gameroom at American Dream since it opened in mid-June? Let us know about your first impressions of this Hasbro-themed arcade in the comments section! You can buy tickets on the American Dream website, and make sure to follow the American Dream Facebook page for the latest announcements about what's to come at this thrilling dining and entertainment destination! If you're looking for a more grown-up adventure at American Dream, consider dinner at Vinoteca, a unique self-serve wine bar. And if you're looking for a place to stay in the area so you can extend your American Dream adventure, we fully recommend the Homewood Suites by Hilton East Rutherford - it has a lot of room and a great breakfast buffet.
