The Winter Coaster In New Hampshire That Will Take You Through A Snowy Mountain Wonderland

Discover the best winter activities and holiday events in New Hampshire, from festive light displays to thrilling outdoor adventures.

Editor's Note: The Mountain Coaster no longer runs during the wintertime. However, it still operates during the summer months.

Everyone knows that skiing in the east gives the west a run for its money. While we might be biased, it's New Hampshire skiing that offers the most fun in this region of the country. But, what's more unique and fun than skiing? Racing down a hill in a winter coaster, of course! Check this out if you're looking for a fun new way to enjoy the outdoors this winter in the Granite State.

While there are plenty of winter action resorts to explore in New Hampshire, we love Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford.

Sure, there's skiing, tubing, and incredible views...

But this year try something a little more unique in the form of the mountain coaster! You can enjoy it year-round, but there's nothing like a winter ride!

The coaster rides up and through the forest trees, then you're on your way!

The coaster goes downhill, heading around exhilarating turns and banked corners, as well as fun drops and even some 360° turns.

The 4,100-foot long track takes riders through the forest for about 6 minutes before coming to a stop.

Riders have their own brake system to make sure they're moving at a speed that's comfortable for them. The maximum speed is 25 m.p.h., meaning that those with an adventurous streak will have plenty to talk about when they get home! But don't take our word for it: check out this epic footage for yourself.

And, once you've enjoyed your ride make sure to stick around to enjoy the park's wintry atmosphere at night. it's remarkable!

You can access the coaster with any 2-hour tubing ticket and ride the track an unlimited amount of times.

Tickets range from $12 to $16 depending on the day you choose to visit.

Gunstock Mountain Resort is located at 719 Cherry Valley Rd., Gilford, New Hampshire. You can visit them online here, or check them out on Facebook. For questions and additional information, give them a call on 603-293-4341.

We also love snow tubing throughout the winter. Check out this spot, which we think is totally underrated. Is it the best in the country? Check it out and you be the judge!
