10 Places To Take Your Kids So They Instantly Fall In Love With New Hampshire

We give you lots of recommendations for things to do in New Hampshire, but your kids might not be interesting in visiting the oldest free public library in the state. We get it. That's why we've done a bit of digging to determine what might be most appealing to the kids of New Hampshire and compiled a few in this article. Whether your kids are adventurous or curious, there's something for them here all year round!

1. Go to the Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover

There's plenty to do here and you'll earn major points since it's both exciting and educational. We especially love the Muse Studio which has plenty of space for creativity, with new themed activities each month to keep visitors inspired. And, admission is just $10 a person. 2. Take a ride on the winter coaster at Gunstock Mountain Resort

This action packed day at Gunstock is worth planning for! It's open year round and includes exhilarating turns, banked corners, as well as fun drops and even some 360° turns.

3. Visit the world's largest arcade

It's might be hard to believe, but it's located right here in New Hampshire! And, it's sure to keep kids (and grownups!) busy for hours. This place is great if you've planned a beach trip and rain sets in. Everything from old school classics to pinball to skee-ball to bowling is on offer here. 4. Snow tubing at Granite Gorge

No matter how much snow is on the ground at your house, there's always a base at Granite Gorge! Days spent tubing here are ones filled with great memories. Tickets are $22 per person for 2 hours. Cosmic Tubing takes place on Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and costs $29 per person.

5. Hike the quarter-mile Sabbaday Falls

Sabbaday Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in New Hampshire, and for good reason. It's an easy walk of about a quarter mile to get to the falls, and once you do you'll be rewarded with one of the best views in the state without a serious sweat investment. The trail is located near Conway off the Kancamagus Highway.

6. Experience Ice Castles

You've heard about it and been meaning to go, but take our word for it - the trip is worth it! This art installation is otherworldly and fascinating for kids. The colors at night make it amazing, but any time of day will knock their socks off.

7. Do some winter ziplining

Some of the best views of New Hampshire aren't from the summit of a winter hike. They're from this one-of-a-kind zipline! The course at Loon Mountain is open through the season and tickets are about $29.

8. See Mt. Washington in the winter

Take the SnowCoach to the (almost!) top of Mt. Washington. Throughout the winter, the Auto Road is closed to regular traffic. But these bad boys will take you to the tree line allowing you to see all the best parts without having to do the hard work yourself.

9. Get some scrumptious hot chocolate at L.A. Burdick

L. A. Burdick may be best known for their signature confection, the Burdick Mouse. But it's their legendary drinking chocolate that we love most. The gourmet shaved chocolate blends are intense, yet totally polished and they will likely remind you of being in Europe. It's just like hot chocolate - only far more creamy, decadent and delicious! 10. Cupcakes for everyone!

Forget the sugar rush worries and give in to what you know everyone wants - sugar! And not just any sugar. Sugar in the form of cupcakes is always a good idea.
