It's no secret that summers in Nevada can be pretty brutal. Luckily, we've come up with plenty of ways to keep cool during the hottest parts of the season. A must-visit for any Nevadan looking to cool off this summer is Cowabunga Bay Water Park. Boasting a unique old-school theme, this beloved water park has become one of the most popular summer attractions in the state for a reason. It's here that you can indulge in some good ol' fashioned fun and be reminded of why water parks will never go out of style. Check it out:
Prepare for the ultimate day of old-school summer fun when you plan a visit to Cowabunga Bay Water Park in Henderson. Comprised of 25-acres of water slides and attractions, it's considered one of the best places to keep cool and have fun at the same time.
The park's theme was inspired by the retro beach and surf scenes of the 1950s and 1960s. Each area of the park contains elements of this vintage theme, and serves as an excellent reminder of how summer fun in the sun will never get old.
The park is split into three distinct areas. One of the areas is named Aloha Shores and features the children's massive play area along with Wild Surf, a 55-foot water slide that drops into the world's largest man-made wave.
However, it's Surf City USA that's home to the park's largest and most popular attractions. A crowd favorite is the Surf-A-Rama Wave Pool. Set in a 1950s-style drive-in theater, the 35,000-square-foot pool creates waves up to four feet high.
Another beloved feature of the park is the Cowabunga River. Park visitors can sit back and relax as they float past giant surfboards, unique water features, and a groovy '67 Volkswagen Bus.
If you'd like to escape the summer crowds, the Caban-A-Rama Pool is a must. Reserved for the VIP Cabana guests only, you can lay back and enjoy the pool in both style and comfort.
A visit to the water park wouldn't be complete without some classic summer snacks. Be sure to stop by Bullwinkle's Boardwalk Grille before you leave for a slice of pizza, nachos, churros, pretzels, and so much more. Summers in Nevada can be rough, but they are made so much easier with destinations like Cowabunga Bay!
