This Charming Little Farm Is The Best Kept Secret In Nebraska

Visit Historic Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard for fruit picking, wine tasting, and hayrack tours.

There's nothing better than sinking your teeth into a ripe summer peach or sipping a glass of locally-produced wine. This summer or fall, visit the Historic Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard where you can spend the day picking your own produce, enjoying a wine tasting, and even taking a hayrack tour!

Richard Kimmel opened his orchard in 1925, just a few miles down the road from his grandfather's farm, which was founded in the 1850. The Kimmel family has a long history with this land, and it's long been an important part of the rural community here.

Bring your friends and family to the orchard. You'll enjoy picking fruit...but you'll also make some memories that will last well beyond the summer.

To pick your own fruit, head straight to the U-Pick barn with the red roof. You'll pay $2 to get in.

They'll supply you with containers for your fruit. When you're done picking, they'll weigh your harvest and charge you per pound (prices vary depending on the type of fruit you've picked).

From cherries and peaches in the spring and summer...

...to apples and pumpkins in the fall, you'll love visiting this magical place throughout the year.

There's nothing like picking your own fruit, then taking it home to enjoy its fresh flavor.

Stop in for a wine tasting, and take home a bottle or two.

Enjoy hayrack rides on the weekends during fall months.

Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard is located at 5995 G Road in Nebraska City. It's open Monday - Saturday 9 AM to 5 PM; Sunday 11 AM to 5 PM.
