Nebraska’s New Interactive Science Museum Offers Tons Of Fun For All Ages

For anyone who wants to dream, play, wonder, and explore, Kiewit Luminarium in Omaha is where you need to go. This new attraction is a unique interactive science museum where creativity, imagination, learning, and excitement all come together with more than 100 interactive exhibits. Grab your friends and family, because this is a day trip destination in Nebraska that you’ll want to relive over and over again.

Welcome to the Kiewit Luminarium.

This new destination is located on Omaha’s RiverFront, and it will change the way you think about the world around you.

This interactive science museum is 82,000 square feet and took several years to build.

It opened in 2023 and has quickly become a place for locals and tourists, alike, to learn and play in Omaha.

As you walk around, you’ll find more than 100 interactive exhibits to help you discover and explore.

There are exhibits that will teach you all about sound, light, and motion.

Through hands-on exhibits, you can also learn more about water, land, and various tools.

You’ll even learn about things we use in daily life, such as money and transportation.

You’ll excite your mind with exhibits that teach you what it means to be a part of a community, and you’ll take a closer look at the human body and technology.

And that’s just the beginning.

With so much to do and see, it is easy for individuals of all ages to spend hours here and gain newfound knowledge.

The Kiewit Luminarium is open Wednesdays through Mondays. It is closed on Tuesdays. It also offers an adult-only time slot from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday evenings. Tickets are based on age and kids four and under are free.
