The One Of A Kind Train Museum Located Just Outside Of Nashville

Dickson, Tennessee may be a hot second away from Music City, but it is a fabulous place to visit if you're into planes, trains and automobiles. Actually, just the trains part...? But we're sure you've already figured that out, since Tennessee has such a solid hand in the history of train transportation. Let's take a look at this amazing place, tucked away from the rest of the world in our sweet corner of the south.

The Clement Railroad Hotel Museum in Dickson is one of the last remaining examples of a small town railroad hotel.

The hotel officially closed as a hotel in 1954, but in 2009 under the ownership of the State of Tennessee, it was restored as a museum.

The hotel was originally built in 1913 at a time when Dickson was just more than a tenth of the size it is now.

The museum has a lot of different exhibits, but one of its most prominent is its exhibit of historical train parts and pictures.

The museum also features fun local history about how the town of Dickson interacted with the Civil War.

The museum doesn't just have train memorabilia -- they also have a lot of historical artifacts that once belonged to Tennessee Governor Frank Clement, who was actually born in the building.

The museum will transport you back in time with their plethora of historic artifacts that do a great job of immersing you in to the early 20th century.

The museum also serves as a sort of community center, offering various events to the public throughout the year. Be sure to check their Facebook page for upcoming events!

Hours are Tuesday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; Sat 9:00 am to 4pm. Head on down to Dickson today to check it out! 100 Frank Clement Pl
