With a state the size of Montana, there are bound to be some oddities. From utterly strange museums to a real-life vortex, there is a fair share of weird things to do in Montana. But being weird isn’t always a bad thing, and we happen to think these crazy things to do in Montana are a lot of fun. We think you'll agree when you check out the following unique places to visit in Montana:

1. The Montana Vortex and House of Mystery, Columbia Falls

The laws of physics don't apply at this bizarre spot in Montana. The Montana Vortex is a true gravitational anomaly! Pass through the Portal, feel the energy of the vortex, and see your aura… or at least have a good time. This place is weird for words... and, apparently, the laws of physics!

2. Historic Dumas Brothel Museum, Butte

Montana’s longest-lived house of prostitution was in business until 1982 and is now a museum. Whether or not you agree with the lifestyle, this is a great place to visit if you enjoy learning about local history. The Dumas Brothel has even been featured on "The Dead Files" on the Travel Channel!

3. Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park

When you think of Montana, you probably think of tall mountains. However, at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, the main attraction is below ground. One of the largest limestone caves in the northwest United States, the Lewis and Clark Caverns are named as such because the famous Lewis and Clark expedition camped within sight of the caverns in 1805. The 3,000-acre park features not just cave tours, but beautiful scenery and a campground, as well. The limestone caverns are amazing to see, but they are certainly one of our oddities. 4. The Testy Festy, Clinton

The fried bull testicles aren’t the weirdest part of this annual festival. It’s the parade of colorful characters that show up dressed in costumes … or not dressed at all. The Testy Festy is held in August every year and it’s a blast. Ryegate also has a Testicle Festival in June that includes a fun evening street dance.

5. Al’s Bootery, Billings

Stop by Al’s Bootery in Billings and you’ll see the size 32 shoe that belonged to Robert P. Wadlow, the world’s largest man. When he died at the age of 22, he was 8’11" and weighed 489 pounds.

6. Lee Steen’s Tree People, Great Falls

Self-taught artist Lee Steen spent 30 years carving these "tree people" from cottonwood branches. If you’re in the Great Falls area, you can see the tree people at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art on 1st Avenue North, Great Falls, MT, 59401.

7. Massa Home Center, Hamilton

Your home is your castle at Massa Home Center, a castle-shaped hardware store in downtown Hamilton, Montana. We’re not sure why a castle theme was chosen, but we’re not complaining.

8. What the Hay (Hay Sculpting Contest), Utica

Every September since 1990, Montanans have gathered to sculpt creative things out of hay. Their works are displayed for 22 miles between Hobson and Windham, otherwise known as the Montana Bale Trail.

9. The Barstool Ski Races, Martin City

There's nothing quite like Barstool Ski Races in Montana. The races are part of the Cabin Fever Days festival in Martin City in February, and they are quite a sight to behold.

10. Pompey’s Pillar, Worden

Graffiti, but make it old-school. Did you know that the last physical evidence of the Lewis and Clark Trail is this autograph etched into a giant rock? This pillar is a little piece of our earliest history. It's full of Native American petroglyphs as well as the signature of William Clark who traversed through what is now known as the state of Montana during the now historic Lewis and Clark Expedition. You can pay a visit to this Pompey's Pillar over in Worden; it truly is one of the most unique places in Montana!

11. O’Fallon Historical Museum, Baker

Steer Montana, the world’s largest steer, calls the O’Fallon Historical Museum home in Baker, Montana, home. He weighed 3,980 pounds at 5’9" tall.

12. The Sip N Dip Lounge, Great Falls

Mermaids in the middle of Montana? Upon entering Sip ‘n Dip Lounge, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another world. Along with the classic decor, it’ll be hard not to spend most of your time watching the mermaids splash around from behind the bar. So, when you’re ready to start your fun evening at this strange destination, head to 17 7th Street South in Great Falls. Pay a visit, and you'll undoubtedly agree that The Sip 'n Lounge is weird in all the right ways!

13. The American Computer & Robotics Museum, Bozeman

From the first televisions to the ways we’ve imagined our technological future, you’ll see it all at The American Computer & Robotics Museum in Bozeman.
