We Found The Ultimate Destination For Children And Kids At Heart In Montana

The Children's Museum of Montana in Great Falls offers interactive and educational exhibits for children, making it a top family destination.

In most cases, museums are a "look but don't touch" kind of place. Children's museums tend to be an exception -- in fact, their innovative exhibits are often very interactive. Montana has several of these magical places, but it's tough to top the Children's Museum of Montana in Great Falls. This is the Treasure State's original children's museum, and it's as fantastic as ever.

The Children's Museum of Montana first opened its doors in February of 1999, immediately attracting tons of curious locals.

This place, which is located at 22 Railroad Square, is both the largest and longest-running children's museum in the state.

The goal here is to ignite a lifelong passion for learning through hands-on and interactive exploration of science, math, and culture.

The space has been remodeled and reorganized many times, but its mission remains the same.

Exhibits include a credit union, a flight zone, a clinic, and a very realistic market, just to name a few.

Children can learn about money, sail the open seas, and save lives as doctors, all under the same roof.

If you have active little ones, they'll adore the Little Falls Parkour exhibit.

This exhibit features tumbling mats, balance beams, and an awesome hanging obstacle course.

The Zoo is a special area just for toddlers, and it's one of the most requested parts of the museum.

This is one of two toddler areas available, and it was recently remodeled and refreshed to be even better.

The Children's Museum of Montana is designed so that children can touch, poke, play, examine, and experience to their heart's content.

And after a time when so many of our little ones spent time at home in isolation, it's a breath of fresh air.

The museum is currently open Monday - Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

General Admission is $8, but discounts are available for seniors, military, and first responders.

Whether you're planning a birthday party, a playdate, or you just need to get the family out of the house for a while, the Children's Museum of Montana is a wonderful option.
