This Magical Moonlight Float Trip In Missouri Will Take Your Summer To A Whole New Level

Experience a magical moonlight float at Perry County Community Lake in Missouri, hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Everything looks different - in a uniquely beautiful way - under the glow of the moon. Summer's an ideal time to soak up all of the activities, from picturesque hikes to magical floats, that take place under the moonlight. Add this moonlight float in Missouri to your summer to do list, but hurry. The one-night only event has limited spaces.

Experience the sheer magic and beauty of an evening under the stars and the glow of the moon on this Moonlight Float, hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Slated for Friday, August 16, 2019, the float will begin at 7 p.m. at Perry County Community Lake in Perryville and will end at 10 p.m.

Have your own canoe or kayak you want to bring along? Sign up for the drive yourself to the lake option, or you can sign up to use the program's equipment.

If you're hitching a ride with the Missouri Department of Conservation, arrive at the Nature Center, where you will set off and return for the evening.

Don't forget to bring plenty of water and a flashlight with you for your moonlight adventure. (The Missouri Department of Conservation also advises guests should wear appropriate clothing.)

Before setting off around the lake, you'll learn everything you need to know about how to paddle safely. Once on the lake, listen for the sounds of the night, including bullfrogs.

All participants must be at least 12 years old.

The moonlight float, including transportation to and from the lake, is free.
