An independent bookstore, Main Street Books has been a neighborhood favorite since 1993.

You'll find all of the latest books at Main Street Books as well as an impressive selection of used books. Be prepared to dig for the used books, which the bookstore doesn't categorize.

However, all used paperback books come with a price tag of $2. Used hardback books cost just $5.

Main Street Books also carries an assortment of books that focus on local history and western history, making it easy to discover new Missouri authors.

Bring the kids along, too, for a visit to the children's section, where they can plop down in a kiddie-sized chair and thumb through a book or two.
