Autumn is always much-anticipated, especially for those of us who are not exactly a fan of summer's scorching heat. Unfortunately, the season seems to pass by all too quickly, especially because there is SO much to do in every corner of Missouri. Fortunately, you have much of the season to check out this harvest festival in Missouri that promises a ton of fun for the whole family.
Silver Dollar City in Branson is the place to be from late September through the end of October when it hosts its wildly popular Harvest Festival.
A fun event for the whole family, the Harvest Festival offers a menu jam-packed with fun, including Visiting Craftsmen.
Gather round to watch as artists work their magic with candlemaking, woodworking, and more. Artists will also sell a variety of unique items - from handmade dolls to spoon and fork jewelry.
Stop by the Cowboy Emporioum, too, where local authors and artists will be on hand throughout the festival.
Bring your camera because you won't believe the absolutely massive pumpkins that will be on display at the Garden of the Giants. Among the eight huge pumpkins, the largest weighs in at 1,400 pounds.
A stop by Cowboy Camp, where you can watch chefs compete making seasonal favorites, will likely get your stomach growling. Don't worry. The Harvest Festival features...
A full menu of goodies (many pumpkin-flavored) - from pizza to ice cream.
Chances are you won't be able to decide what to try, so grab a Harvest Festival Passport. Then indulge in such delicious dishes as pumpkin chili, pumpkin corn dogs, and smoked sausage sandwiches.
As day gives way to evening, you'll probably want to stick around Silver Dollar City for the start of Pumpkins in the City, a family-friendly event that features a slew of glowing pumpkins.
The evening also includes rides, pumpkin dance parties, and more, making it the perfect way to end a visit to the Harvest Festival.
