The One Spring Festival In Mississippi That’s Worthy Of Your Bucket List Every Year

The (somewhat) cooler spring weather presents the perfect opportunity to enjoy some outdoor activities in Mississippi. And while there are lots of things to do outside in this beautiful state, spring festivals in Mississippi can’t be beat. And if you ask us, the Double Decker Arts Festival in Mississippi ranks pretty high up there. A favorite for more than 20 years, it’s one of the best things to do in Mississippi in spring, and you don’t want to miss it.

Oxford’s annual Double Decker Arts Festival is back for another year to celebrate food, music, and the arts!

Each April, the fest takes place in the historic Oxford Square.

A beloved tradition, the fest has been going on for nearly 30 years, and takes its name from Oxford’s authentic double-decker bus, which was imported from England in 1994.

It’s come a long way since its debut, when the bed of an old pickup served as a makeshift stage and there were only a handful of vendors.

Today, it boasts crowds of more than 60,000 and hosts over 100 art and food vendors.

Live musical performances are also part of the fun.

And beginning in 2022, several new features were added to the Mississippi spring festival.

Some of the newer additions include a community stage to host local talent. Past performances have included dance shows, martial arts demonstrations, and other unique acts.
