The Small-Town Harvest Festival In Mississippi Belongs On Your Autumn Bucket List
Harvest festivals are typically held on farms, where you and your family can experience farm life, enjoying hay rides, corn mazes, and picking out the perfect pumpkin. This particular small-town harvest festival in Mississippi is a little bit different than your traditional fall festival, and I think you’ll thoroughly enjoy it. Let’s check it out:
Every year, the sleepy little town of Picayune throws the Fall Street Festival, a two-day festival that’s fun for the entire family.
Here are the dates:
November 4, 2023: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
November 5, 2023: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This year marks the festival’s 58th year, and it promises to be one of the best.
It’s one of the most popular events in Pearl River County. As such, you’ll want to get there early so you can get a good parking spot! Also, since this is an outdoor event, make sure you’ve got a hat or some sunglasses to keep you out of the sun.
The streets of Downtown Picayune are filled with more than 250 local vendors.
This is the perfect place to start picking up holiday gifts. Not only are you supporting small businesses and local artisans, but you’ll save yourself time in December from buying gifts! Win-win.
My best advice is to take your time and explore each and every tent.
There will be a wide range of selections here. Some will be selling handcrafted woodwork, some will be selling clothing, jewelry, candles, furniture...a little bit of everything! I’m positive that you'll be able to find something for yourself, and get a head start on holiday gifts.
As you’re exploring each vendor, there will be plenty of opportunities to fuel up.
Plus, the local business open their doors for even more shopping!
The antique shops are always my favorite.
There will be live music, a car show, 5 and 10K runs, and so much more.
Plus, plenty of activities for the youngest festers!
This year there will be a bounce house, a EuroBungee, and a mechanical bull.
Visit the Picayune Street Festival website for more information, and be sure to follow Main Street Picayune on Facebook so you don't miss out on any important announcements as the festival gets closer.
Looking for more fun things to do in the fall in Mississippi? From hiking trails to picture-perfect farms, there's plenty to look forward to during this time of year. One of my favorite things to do is to take a road trip to check out Mississippi's fall foliage.
