Peek Into The Past At The Carrollton Historic Pilgrimage and Pioneer Day Festival In Mississippi

Calling all history buffs! We’ve got just the fest for you - The Pioneer Day Festival in Carrollton. With educational exhibits and traditional arts and crafts, it offers a unique (and fun!) peek into the past. And, as an added bonus, it’s held in conjunction with another event, the Carrollton Pilgrimage.

Established in 1834, Carrollton is brimming with history – and a great way to learn about that history is the Carrolton Pilgrimage and Pioneer Day Festival.

Both events will be going on from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on October 1, and 2, 2021.

The pilgrimage consists of tours of the historic buildings that fill Carrollton.

Though small, Carrollton is revered for its collection of well-preserved homes, churches, and other historic buildings.

Tickets for the pilgrimage are $25 for adults and $10 for students.

Offering historic fun of a different kind, the Pioneer Day Festival features educational exhibits, traditional arts and crafts, food vendors, and live music.

A beloved annual tradition, the fest attracts 2,500 people a year, which is pretty substantial since Carrollton only has about 200 residents.

Unlike the pilgrimage, the Pioneer Day Festival is free to attend.
