Ride Or Walk Through Over 2 Million Holiday Lights At Christmas Lights Festival In Mississippi

All aboard for the best Christmas lights in Mississippi! Holiday fun is in full swing at the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum (now known as TrainTastic Interactive Model Railroad Museum). Celebrating its Christmas Lights Festival, the museum has been transformed into a magical winter wonderland with millions of twinkling lights, train rides, and more. It's one of our favorite ways to enjoy Christmas in Mississippi.

Before the holiday season is over, you’ve got to get your caboose to the Christmas Lights Festival at the TrainTastic Interactive Model Railroad Museum.

Located in beautiful Gulfport, MS the museum is widely known as the home of the largest Lego display in The Magnolia State.

This annual light festival generally starts after Thanksgiving and runs through New Year’s Eve.

This is definitely one of the best light displays in Mississippi.

It has been hailed as “One of the largest Christmas light shows on the Gulf Coast.”

Imagine seeing some 80 running model trains, four outdoor riding trains, and that awesome two-million piece LEGO display all lit up both indoors and outdoors!

MCMRM is a fun day out for all ages.

Preparing for the fest is no easy feat.

Museum employees begin decorating back in October, well before the holiday season officially starts in Mississippi.

The end result is a twinkling wonderland, made up of more than two million lights!

As far as the best Christmas lights in MS, it doesn't get any bigger or brighter than this!

There are also some incredibly detailed model train displays, depicting festive scenes.

Fans from all over the state who love model trains and railroad history flock here, not just during the festival but year-round.

In addition to the model trains, there are riding trains.

Big (i.e. adults!) and little kids alike love and appreciate the joy that model trains bring.

Train rides and displays aren't the only things to enjoy during the festival.
