There are many ways to see Minnesota. You can take one of the state's many scenic drives, which offer amazing views in every region. You can even take a boat ride to see some of Minnesota's 10,000 Lakes (and many rivers) up close. Today, we want to share yet another way to explore the Gopher State. Take a ride on the Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway for a unique chance to see another side of charming Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota. This excursion is one you will not soon forget. Here's what you'll see along the way.
The Osceola &. St. Croix Valley Railway is a railroad owned and operated by the Minnesota Transportation Museum. This museum is in St. Paul, Minnesota, and often hosts fun events and tours focused on the history of transportation in Minnesota.
For a train ride, however, guests will need to travel to the train depot in Osceola, Wisconsin. Rides usually operate on Saturdays through most of the year. Simply purchase a ticket and show up to board!
Special events are sometimes held on the trail. For example, can take part in a fun brunch or dinner as you roll through the countryside.
Of course, you can't go wrong with a simple train ride either. The train cars are all equipped with comfortable seating and big windows.
The windows offer amazing views of the St. Croix Valley. During the ride, you'll cross over the St. Croix River and into Minnesota.
The view from the windows, of the sparkling water surrounded by trees, with a glimpse of tiny towns in the distance, is nothing short of spectacular.
Once you cross into Minnesota, you'll briefly stop in Marine on St. Croix. Then, the train ride returns to Osceola, with the same gorgeous views along the way.
