You'll find all sorts of oddities, relics, and artifacts from the middle of the 20th century - all collected by one man. If that sounds interesting to you, read on below to learn more about Ed's Museum.
Ed's Museum is an unusual oddity museum in Wykoff, Minnesota, about 120 miles south of the Twin Cities. The museum is housed in an old Jack Sprat Food Store, where its former owner, Ed Krueger, collected a myriad of interesting objects over several decades.
Ed collected all manner of objects, and he rarely threw anything away. When he passed away in 1989, the Jack Sprat building was filled to the brim with his belongings. Everything was left to the town of Wykoff. Instead of throwing it out, leaders decided to turn the store into a museum.
Visitors to the museum today find a huge array of oddities, relics, and artifacts of the past. A whole wall is dedicated to packaging and advertising. Browsing these is a fun way to admire a bygone era.
Other treasures, from old books and magazines to old tools, utensils, and more, can be found here.
There are also plenty of personal artifacts thrown into the mix - including a box containing Ed's dead cat nestled into one of the shelves.
Ed's Museum is a fascinating trip back in time, where you'll see plenty of oddities and artifacts from the past. You'll also get to take a peek into the life of one man and what he deemed worthy of keeping. This one-of-a-kind museum is a must-visit for anyone who loves unique history!
Ed's Museum is open every weekend from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. However, hours may vary from time to time. It's best to call ahead to make sure the museum is open before you go. Try contacting the Wykoff Historical Society to ensure that you'll be able to visit!
