Welcome to a little cafe full of friendly faces, Catfe Lounge. Out in Ferndale, you'll find that this spot is especially cuddly and a purrfect pick-me-up to start the day.

Inside, enjoy a coffee or tea while you interact with fluffy little personalities for a while. Catfe Lounge is the first permanent cat cafe in Michigan, and as part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter, they always have new friends coming in.

It's a relaxing start to the morning, but much like cats who are picked up and brought in, getting out to explore is the goal of the day.

Next up on the list is the Tenhave Woods Nature Trail, a beautiful loop trail out at Quickstad Park that is a great place to stretch your legs.

The trail only runs 0.7 miles, which makes for a nice hike of about 20 minutes at a steady pace. Or, you can take it extra slow and enjoy wildlife spotting while you explore along the path.

There are 22 fenced-in acres here, with quite a few heritage trees and a small pond. As long as you have bug spray, it's bound to be a great little adventure to finish out the day.
