Most People Don’t Know This Massachusetts Zoo And Education Center Even Exists

Bring the kids and head to The Zoo in Forest Park & Education Center to see and learn about the animals that live there.

Hidden gems abound throughout Massachusetts and The Zoo in Forest Park is no exception. This non-profit zoo has 735 acres and is located within a Springfield city park.

This zoo is home to a wide array of species, both domestic and exotic. In fact, there are over 225 animals that live here.

The animals here have gone through rehabilitation but, for one reason or another, cannot be released back into the wild. The Zoo in Forest Park provides a safe haven for them to live.

Among the mammals that reside here are camels, coyotes, hedgehogs, servals, deer, and timber wolves.

And, of course, there are plenty of farm animals to interact with like goats, alpacas, llamas, donkeys, and more.

You'll also get to see numerous species of amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates like an axolotl, ball python, and tortoises.

Visitors are also welcome to learn about wildlife conservation and rehabilitation at the education center. The zoo also offers plenty of programs for both children and adults to learn about animals.
