What do you get when you combine beer and axes? The answer is a really entertaining night out! Ax-throwing venues are popping up all across the country and Massachusetts is in on the action. Urban Axes, located in Somerville, is the perfect place to spend an evening perfecting this new activity.

Ax throwing looks like so much fun! What better way to have some fun and release some stress from a busy work week?

I can't wait to try it out!

Urban Axes is located in a colorful building right in Somerville’s Union Square. They are open for walk-in sessions as well as group reservations. You can also book a celebratory gathering or corporate event here. Doesn't an ax-throwing birthday party sound like a fantastic idea?

Urban Axes has additional locations in Baltimore, Cincinnati, Durham, and Austin.

Urban Axes is a great place to visit with friends. It is also a unique spot to spend a date night. The bar often hosts themed events, such as its upcoming Valentine’s Day special that includes some free drinks.

If you have never thrown an ax before, you may be feeling a little unsure of the experience. Not to worry! Your party will be assigned an expertly trained coach who will walk you through the process and make sure that you have a safe and fun experience.

After you have practiced a bit, your coach will guide you through some fun competitive games. Will you be the ax-throwing champion of your group?

Urban Axes’ Boston location has a full-service bar where you can purchase beer, cider, wine, and soda. You can bring your own food or have your event catered.

Please note that the venue is 21+ and does not accept cash.

If you find that throwing axes is something that you want to do more of, you may want to consider joining a league. It is a great way to meet some new friends and to take part in some healthy competition.

Have you tried your hand at ax throwing? Did you find it fun and cathartic? More information about this unique bar can be found on the Urban Axes website and the Urban Axes Boston Facebook page.
