You're stuck at home but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy some of Maryland's best attractions from the comfort of your couch. Really! Recently, we wrote about the National Aquarium, which is offering free livestreams of sharks, jellyfish, and more. Well, the following marine museum is also offering a livestream, but it's full of cute and cuddly otters! Tune in and spend some time awing over these furry little creatures. What a great way to add some joy to your day!
Calvert Marine Museum is located in Solomons, Maryland.
This spot is great for a day trip, where you can learn about the bay by checking out the interactive exhibits...
...exploring the marsh walk...
...and by visiting with the resident animals.
Speaking of resident animals, Calvert Marine Museum is home to three North American River Otters known as Chumley, Calvert, and Chessie Grace.
You can't physically visit the otters right now due to the COVID-19 shut down.
But you CAN tune into the livestream of the otter's habitat, making for the cutest way to pass the time.
Who could say no to a face like this? Click here for the live feed of these charismatic little critters.
While you're at it, you can also take a virtual tour of Drum Point Lighthouse, which is located at the marine museum as well. Check it out by clicking here.
There's a lot to love about Calvert Marine Museum -- otters included. Experience the livestream and virtual tour now, and then consider seeing it all in person later in the year.
For more information about Calvert Marine Museum, visit the website. You can also follow the official Facebook page to stay up to date on the resident animals, events, and more.
While you're in the Solomons area, be sure to also check out Lotus Kitchen. They serve some of the best (or perhaps THE best) key lime pie in the state!
