St. Ann's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Kennebunkport is exactly the type of spot you hope exists here in Maine! Luckily, it won't require a ton of searching to find.
The views that are found here might feel remote, but the church is located not far from Colony Beach, off of Ocean Avenue.
The seaside chapel sitting along the Gulf of Maine was constructed in 1974 in memory of Margaret Woodbury Strong, who called Rochester, New York and Kennebunk, Maine home.
Visitors can take part in the weekly service in this beautiful outdoor area from mid-June to Labor Day at 8 a.m.
From just after Labor until mid-September when the church closes, visitors can take part in the service hosted inside the stone chapel.
This structure dates all the way back to 1892 and has been in continuous use ever since!
The inside is truly beautiful and worth a visit even if you don't identify with religion.
The grounds of the church are open for visitors to enjoy and we do recommend you spend some time here.
It's not only gorgeous, but the peaceful and calming air will have you feeling right at home.
