Wilbur's has been around since 1983 when owners Tom and Catherine first started with a retail location on Bow Street in Freeport.

After expanding, they moved to their current location at 174 Lower Main Street in Freeport in 2008.

The expansions included lots more chocolate, and the need for a more robust factory area.

No complaints here!

With more room for creating, they were able to begin stocking more of their own products - all locally made and handcrafted.

But serious candy lovers will want to visit Wilbur's to learn about how they make their incredible chocolate!

There are two types of tours offered at Wilbur's...

The "Guided Factory Tour" allows visitors the chance to hear a history of the store, watch chocolate being made and, of course, eat LOTS of samples!

These tours are about 30 minutes long and cost $3.50.

The "Hands-On Factory Tour" offers the same history and chance to watch chocolate being made, but also includes an opportunity to make your own treats to take home!

These tours are about 30-45 minutes long and cost $4.50.

Because different chocolates are always being made, each tour is different making this a good thing to do and re-do throughout the year.

You might want to visit around chocolate-heavy holidays like Valentine's Day, Christmas or Easter for some added fun.

Even if you can't coordinate your visit with a tour you'll walk away with some pretty epic sweets!
