The One Annual Winter Festival In Maine Every Mainer Should Bundle Up For At Least Once

Carnaval Maine Winter Festival is a week-long event in Portland featuring family-friendly activities, live music, and local brews.

We might complain about the cold and snow occasionally, but for the most part winter in Maine is one of our favorite times of year. There's a sense of camaraderie that comes from trudging through the slush and there's a certain level of cozy that can only be achieved when temps dip as low as they do around here. Along with all of that, we love that ways that Mainers find to celebrate the season. This fun winter festival in Maine is in its second year and it's a great example of how Mainers have a good time!

While relatively new to the scene, the Carnaval Maine Winter Festival is already an event that has people marking their calendars in advance for!

Now in its second year, the event takes place for a full week, Feb. 17-26, on the Eastern Promenade.

Each day offers a different type of fun.

Carnaval is perfect for kids and each day there are plenty of fun events, including things like crafts, to get families participating together.

Expect at last one ice sculpture to liven things up, too!

Last year there was even a USA Snowboard and Freeski competition.

The event features a great live music lineup, a Bites & Brews area with local Maine breweries, national food purveyors, and so much more.

Carnaval Maine is a fun way to enjoy an outdoor event with the family in one of the most beautiful locations in Portland.

We love just how many fun things there are to do this season in Maine. That includes the toboggan chute at Camden Snow Bowl. It's a must-see this winter in Maine.
