The Peach Festival In Louisiana Is About The Sweetest Event You Can Experience

Far from the low-lying swamp and bayous of the southern part of the state, northern Louisiana’s rolling hills and lush farmlands are ideal for peach orchards to thrive. Every year, the city of Ruston celebrates this tasty fruit with one of the sweetest Louisiana festivals, the Peach Festival in Louisiana.

The 72nd Annual Louisiana Peach Festival kicks off June 3, 2023, in downtown Ruston.

The festival began in 1951 and was created by local peach farmers who wanted to promote their crops and showcase the different varieties of peaches grown in Louisiana.

There will be over 10 hours of live music from local bands to listen to.

The festival begins at 9 a.m. and runs well into the night, ending at 11 p.m.

All of the festival activities are free to attend from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 5-11. Kids 4 and under are free!

There are other activities throughout the week, too.

From May 29-June 3, the city holds all sorts of fun activities to celebrate the festival - like the peach hunt! Every day, a clue will be released on their Facebook page and if you can solve the clue and find the mystery card hidden that day, you might just win $500!

Spend some time strolling through the art market where you’ll find incredible art, handmade items, and home goods from local artists.

There's also a kid's art alley where the little ones can enjoy hands-on arts and crafts and other fun activities.

And of course, the farmers market is a wonderful spot to pick up seasonal fruits and vegetables as well as local honey, jams, jellies, and salsas.

Plus all the peaches you can carry!
