Every Summer, Thousands Flock To This Louisiana Town For The Louisiana Pirate Festival

With more than 400 festivals in Louisiana each year, you can bet there's always something going on here in the Pelican State. Most of Louisiana's festivals celebrate our unique history, culture, or food, but the Louisiana Pirate Festival steps out of the box and celebrates a different side of Louisiana's history. Pirates!

Ahoy, mate! Are ye ready to grab some ale and celebrate the legendary pirates that once traversed the waters in Lake Charles?

Jean Lafite, Louisiana's most infamous pirate, was known to cruise through Lake Charels during his time, and many believe he buried his treasure in these waters (or the nearby Contraband Bayou).

The Louisiana Pirate Festival is back for its 66th year, so mark your calendars for May 4 - May 14, 2023!

Whether you arrive by boat or on foot, you're in for a good time.
