The Washington Old Schoolhouse in Louisiana is a massive antique mall and a historic site worth visiting.

Louisiana has plenty of antique shops that are filled with incredible treasures from the past. If you’re a fan of antiques, then you’ve probably visited the antique stores in Denham Springs, Ponchatoula, or Antique Alley in West Monroe. This one incredible antique mall in Louisiana is an antique lover's paradise and worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Let's check it out.

You’ll find the Washington Old Schoolhouse in the tiny town of Washington, which is just six miles outside of Opelousas.

Built in 1938, the old schoolhouse is now a massive antique mall filled with 40,000 square feet of treasures.

It’s actually the only antique mall in Louisiana that’s listed on the National Register of Historic places.

After you’ve explored the schoolhouse, be sure to pop on over to the gymnasium, where even more treasures await.

All that shopping is bound to work up an appetite.

Take a break from antiquing and enjoy a meal at the Old Schoolhouse Cafe, where you can grab a burger and a milkshake at this charming '50s-themed cafe.

Twice a year, the Old Schoolhouse hosts an antique fair and yard sale, which is certainly a sight to see.

Over 200 additional dealers from around the country gather around the six acres of the Schoolhouse grounds for an entire weekend to display their collections.

The next antique fair is set to take place in October, so be sure to check their website for the most up to date information.

The Washington Old Schoolhouse is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
