Enjoy The Most Colorful Spring Festival In Louisiana At Kite Fest Louisiane

Spring opens the floodgates for festivals, and there's one Louisiana kite festival that might just be one of the most colorful spring festivals in the state. Kite Fest Louisiane' has been a favorite for folks in the Port Allen area since it began in 2004 and it just keeps getting bigger and better every year when spring in Louisiana comes around. It's coming up soon, so mark your calendars for this fun kite festival in Louisiana. It's one of the best spring festivals in Louisiana!

Kite Fest Louisiane' takes place on April 27 and 28, 2024.

It's only a few weeks away, so be sure to clear your schedule for that weekend!

The gates open at 11 a.m. both days, and it takes place at the West Baton Rouge Soccer Complex in Port Allen.

And the best part is that admission is free!

Bring some lawn chairs or a blanket to sprawl out on and keep your eyes on the skies.

This is one festival you'll want to bring sunscreen for. Since kites require a lot of open space, you won't have much shade so be sure to bring a hat and some sunglasses.

Professional and amateur kite enthusiasts will be showing off their kites for the two-day festival.

If you've never seen a professional kite flyer, you're in for a real treat. It's incredible what these kites can do!

Food vendors and arts and crafts areas will also be out and about to celebrate the sky show.

There will also be musical entertainment to enjoy.

This is one festival that kids and adults of all ages will enjoy.

There will be plenty of hands-on activities, too, like kite-building demonstrations, kite design contests, and indoor kite flying.

There will be several different types of kites flying through the skies, and you'll learn all about the differences in kites.

You probably have seen the familiar diamond kites and delta kites, but there are so many different types of kites and you'll see them all here.

From whimsical kites to sport/fighter kites, you never know what will be launching into the sky next.

On Saturday night there will be an epic fireworks display, too! Here are the details for both days of the festival:

April 27, 2024 - 11 a.m. - fireworks at dusk

April 28, 2024 - 11 a.m. - 6 p.m

Remember, the festival is free to attend! No pets or ice chests, though. Don't worry, there will be plenty of food and beverage vendors to keep you hydrated.
