You may be surprised to learn that Louisiana has a vineyard, but Landry Vineyards has been a hidden gem since it was established in 1999.
Originally located in Folsom, the Landry family moved the vineyards to West Monroe shortly after Hurricane Katrina, and they’ve been there ever since.
You may have seen the wines in any one of the 300 locations around Louisiana where they're sold.
Today, the beautiful 20-acre site includes a winery, vineyards, and a tasting room.
They offer tours, which are a great way to spend the day.
You'll learn all about the wine-making process, from growing the grapes to the bottling process. The tour includes a tour of the vineyard, cellar, winery, crush pad, and the bottling facility. The entire tour lasts about an hour.
After your tour, you'll end up in the tasting room where you'll get to sample some of their delicious wines.
Tastings are offered Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. and are just $10 per person and you’ll have the option to taste either all of their semi-sweet and port wines or all of their dry and port wines.
If you’d like to taste all of the wines, then you’re looking at $20. Money well spent!
Tours are offered on Saturdays from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. and require an appointment in advance.
