There’s A Frog Festival In Louisiana, And It’s One Of The Quirkiest Festivals You’ll Ever Go To

We will celebrate just about anything, from the tiniest town to the biggest musical festivals in the South. One of the most unique festivals you can attend is the Frog Festival in Rayne Louisiana. We've got all the details and everything you need to know about this quirky festival that pays tribute to the history of this charming town in Cajun Country.

First things first: the dates.

The festival takes place May 11-13, 2023 in Rayne, Louisiana.

The entire town gets all dressed up as the festival draws near, so be sure to take some time to admire all of the awesome community art that peppers the local businesses.

Rayne and frogs have a long history together, and from the late 1800s into the early 1900s, Rayne was the largest exporter of frog legs in the state. While Rayne no longer exports frog legs to the masses, the town fully embraces its history, and is even nicknamed the "Frog Capital of the World." From the moment you pull off the interstate, you'll see frog murals and statues of various shapes and sizes all around the town.

2023 marks the 51st anniversary of this festival and it's jam-packed with old-school fun.

The frog races, in particular, are always fun to watch. Of course, you may be inspired to enter yourself into the frog leg eating contest!

There are plenty of contests you can sign up for, like the Diaper Derby.
