Every True Louisianian Has Had These 8 Bizarre Experiences At Least Once
Living in Louisiana involves experiencing unique and bizarre events that are part of the local culture.
Living in Louisiana means living in a very unique place. That means that you'll have some strange, bizarre experiences at least once. Here are some of the most strange ones that you can come to expect.
1. Being told not to worry about the gator, he’s already eaten.
I mean, is that supposed to make me feel better?
2. Fighting for beads that cost about five cents each.
When you are in the throws of a Mardi Gras Parade, you can become pretty blinded!
3. Wearing a winter jacket in the morning and flip-flops by the afternoon.
Sometimes the weather is just that strange.
4. Talking to your grandmere and having no idea what she is saying.
Those accents can get really strong!
5. Seeing people take a boat down your street.
If flooding has come to your area, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced this. Good thing you've practiced in the bayou.
6. Being told to “suck the head” at a family gathering.
They mean the crawfish’s head.
7. Sitting outside and having bags of pennies in water dangling over your head.
Some say it keeps the mosquitos away but I just don’t know.
8. Being told to vote for a crook. It’s important.
How many times have we been asked to make strange compromises in Louisiana politics?
