The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival Just Might Be Louisiana’s Biggest And Baddest Foodie Event

Breaux Bridge hosts an annual crawfish festival featuring Cajun music, food, and cultural activities.

Gonzales has jambalaya, Ponchatoula has strawberries, Rayne has frogs, and Breaux Bridge has crawfish. Breaux Bridge was the first town to put crawfish on a menu, and it's only fitting that this charming city wears the title of "Crawfish Capital of the World." Every year, Breaux Bridge throws one of the most epic crawfish festivals in Louisiana, and while there are a few other festivals celebrating the famous mudbug, this is one crawfish festival in Louisiana you won't want to miss.

First thing’s first: mark your calendars for May 5-7, 2023.

And clear your schedule, because you’ll want to attend all three days.

This festival has been one of Louisiana’s most celebrated food festivals since it began back in 1960...

...just one year after the Louisiana legislature crowned the town the Crawfish Capital of the World!

It’s also one of the largest gatherings of Cajun musicians in the country!

You can dance the day away to the sweet melodies of Cajun, Zydeco, and Swamp Pop all weekend long.

Over 30 bands will be taking the state for this delicious festival! Check the schedule to see when your favorite band is playing.

There will be plenty of fun and games to pass a good time.

Nothing like a good old-fashioned crawfish race, right?

Be sure to bring some chairs so you can sit back and relax while you enjoy the festival.

And a good hat to keep the sun out of your face.

There will be cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors, and several Creole heritage tents peppered around the festival, too.

Plus carnival rides, contests, and more!

And of course, plenty of delicious crawfish to dig into.

You may even be inspired to enter the crawfish eating contest. Or at least, pull up a chair and have a front-row seat to the spectacle!

Check out the website for more information and be sure to follow the festival on Facebook so you can stay up to date as the festival drawers closer!
