For more than 20 years, an Owensboro family has been delighting the community with their over-the-top Christmas lights display.

The Lashbrook family started it all off small with just a reindeer and some lights and it has grown tremendously over the years.

As you can imagine, there is a great amount of work that goes into getting the display ready for the season.

The family changes things up a bit year after year and somehow they manage to make it even more magical when they first flip that switch.

The house sits on a corner in the Stonegate neighborhood of Owensboro and it has become famous in this city and throughout the tri-state area.

You can drive past or walk along the sidewalk to take it all in.

Of course, always remember that this is a private home and be sure to be respectful of their property and their efforts.

While this particular house is illuminated all season long, the entire neighborhood gets in on the festive fun in December.

On select nights, they host Christmas in Stonegate, where you can drive or walk around and take in the thousands and thousands of lights. There are also Santa sightings, hot cocoa, and donations are taken to raise money for local charities. Since this began in 2000, they have raised more than $75,000!

The word got out about this magical house and it gained the attention of ABC's "Great Christmas Light Fight" show.

A few years ago, the show included the house in an episode and the whole neighborhood enjoyed the filming.
