With National Headliners And New Attractions, The 2023 Kentucky State Fair Promises To Be Bigger And Better Than Ever

State fairs are a quintessential summertime experience and the 2023 Kentucky State Fair promises that small-town good time. With fun and games, live music and 4H demonstrations, fried foods and ambiance — in the Bluegrass, the Kentucky State Fair is a longtime favorite; an annual event many look forward to year after year. Held 11 days August 17-27, there's nothing better than the Kentucky State Fair; and with national headliners and new attractions, the 2023 fair promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Every August, the streets of Louisville light up for several fun-filled days and nights because of the Kentucky State Fair, which since 1816 has been entertaining generations of Kentuckians.

The fair theme this year is “Summer Summed Up,” which gives an idea of what to expect at the Kentucky State Fair.

Last year's Kentucky State Fair attracted 525,000 fairgoers to fill the 520 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits of the Louisville Expo Center for a variety of activities old and new.

One reason we go is to see our neighbors compete in the animal exhibits and demonstrations.

Also, dance to the live performers at the Texas Roadhouse Concert Series, where one starring group in the lineup is The Oak Ridge Boys!

And every concert is free with paid admission to the fair - what??

The circus acts and epic competitions will amaze you, such as the Largest Pumpkin and Watermelon contests.

You worked hard all year - will yours be the winner?

Take a seat on rides of all sizes, shapes, and varieties.

Scream and laugh at the top of your lungs.

Or wait for something a little slower to go by with music and sparkling lights.

Because before you know it - it's gone.

Of course, while the animals and attractions are all fine and good, the real reason folks come to the Kentucky State Fair is the food.

What is it about fair fare that's so darn delicious?

Maybe it's because everything is fried, or so many novelties come on a stick, or maybe it's simply because we know that these delicious treats can only be enjoyed once a year.

The best memories of our lives are from this great big ole' fair.
