Celebrate Bluegrass Legends At The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Celebrate Kentucky's rich music history at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Mt. Vernon.

Kentucky might be best-known for bourbon, horses, and caves -- but our state is nothing if not well-rounded. Kentucky has a proud footprint in the music industry, in fact, with legendary icons like Loretta Lynn and Rosemary Clooney hailing from the Bluegrass State. And there's a place in the state that honors the many Kentuckians who have made a significant contribution to the music industry. Celebrate Bluegrass Legends at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum, an only-in-Kentucky attraction sure to make your Kentucky-loving heart swell with pride.

Did you know that the Bluegrass State has birthed some of the most legendary icons in the music industry?

From the Coon Creek Girls and Rosemary Clooney...

...to Boots Randolph and Loretta Lynn, Kentucky has played a very important role (or, note?) in American music history.

And the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum celebrates the Bluegrass State's proud music history.

Located in the beautiful blue hills of bucolic Mt. Vernon, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum opened in 2002.

The museum contains memorabilia, artifacts, and exhibits that shine a spotlight on the numerous bands, singers, and music birthed in the Bluegrass State.

In addition to the more traditional museum displays and exhibits, you'll find some unique and quirky little showpieces, like this one: The Moron Brothers Bluegrass tour bus! This iconic bug has been featured in many videos, album covers, and Facebook posts... and it's kind of a big deal!

Even the building that houses the museum is historic -- and related to Horse Country! The front section of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum used to be John Lair's horse stables. Lair, who founded Renfro Valley Entertainment Center in 1939, had his home and stables built here in 1944; today, these winsome structures provide the perfect setting for a Bluegrass music museum.

Of course, live shows and concerts are regular events here, too...

...including rip-roarin' Bluegrass jam sessions!

The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum is one of those places that absolutely needs to be on your Bluegrass bucket list. You'll be entertained and inspired at this only-in-Kentucky attraction!

Visit the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum website to learn more and plan your trip to this bucket-list-worthy attraction!

And if you love Loretta Lynn as much as we do, you'll absolutely want to take a day trip to the small town of Butcher Hollow, Kentucky!
